Folk narratives are valuable tools for understanding the past, mindset and worldview of the people who own and pass down the stories. This article explores the imagination of the Mizo people in the past through Mizo trickster tales, including deception between animals, between humans and between animals and humans. Rather than focusing merely on the humorous aspects of these trickster tales, the articles seeks to examine their hidden meanings and the reasons behind the acts of deception. Through this exploration, it aims to gain a deeper understanding of the imagination and mindset of the Mizo ancestors.
